Who Are We?

Founded in 2002, the Missouri Oncology Society (MOS) is the largest oncology professional organization in the state. MOS comprises a powerful community of oncologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other multidisciplinary care providers involved in the treatment of patients with cancer.

The Missouri Oncology Society (MOS) is a State Chapter Member with the Association of Cancer Care Centers (ACCC) and maintains an affiliation with the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Through this collaboration, MOS members have access to valuable educational content and innovative resources that help them stay ahead of local and national challenges—ensuring patients continue to receive the high-quality care they deserve.

We collaborate with internal and external organizations to support our mission of improving patient outcomes and the treatment of cancer in the State of Missouri.

To carry out our mission, we strive to:

Improve care delivery services in Missouri
Study the socioeconomic aspects and consider these findings in facilitating management of these diseases
Sponsor educational programs for clinicians
Promote interchange between clinicians
Safeguard the rights of patients
Serve as an advocate and liaison to governmental and insurance interests on behalf of patients
Disseminate information regarding legislative and regulatory developments
Promote scientific inquiry and exchange of clinical information
Establish and maintain high medical and ethical standards
Promote fellowship among its members

Our goals are to:

Affect legislation and public policy relative to patient access to cancer care
Act as a resource on the "accepted medical practices" associated with cancer care
Provide a forum for education of our members on current technologies and their role as accepted medical practices
Provide communications to our members and others on issues affecting patient access to cancer care and the practice of oncology
